One work interval, not a whole method
A 25 minute timer matches the work interval people mean when they say pomodoro: one stretch of focus, then a stop. The full method also uses short breaks and a longer break after several rounds. This page does not switch to those breaks for you. When it rings, you stand up, you note where you stopped, and you decide the next thing. If you want a shorter warm-up, the 15 minute timer is there. If the block is half an hour, use the 30 minute timer.
Twenty-five minutes is long enough to get somewhere and short enough that a vague task is exposed. “Work on the project” is a bad label. “Draft the first section” is a good one. Write it down before Start. If you cannot name the outcome, you are not ready for the dial, and the stopwatch can show you how you actually spend the time.
Protect the twenty-five minutes
The page opens at 25:00. Close the extra tabs first. Start when you begin, not when you sit down to prepare, or the preparation eats the block. Pause is for a person at the door, not for a quick look at a feed that becomes twelve minutes. The tab title shows the time left. The alarm is set at Start and can ring while the tab is behind another window, if the machine stays awake and the sound is on.
Fullscreen keeps the number visible across a desk. Reset throws away the current run and returns to the length in the fields. Nothing is stored on a server, so a reload is a fresh 25:00. That is useful when you were only testing the sound, and annoying if you reloaded by mistake in the middle of real work. Treat reload as a stop.
- Name one outcome before Start.
- The chime means stop and mark your place, not “finish no matter what.”
- Breaks are a separate decision. This timer will not start them.
- Odd lengths belong on the main online timer, not as a habit of editing this page.
What sits next to a focus block
A calendar deadline is not 25 minutes. Count the days with days between dates, then use this page for one sitting. A presentation slot might be 10 or 15 minutes instead. Pick the preset that matches the promise you made, and keep this one for deep work. The online timer links every preset if you are choosing.
